Tools and Resources

Cannon Valley Makers has thousands of tools available to our members 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Below you’ll find a partial list of our tools, arranged by room.

Consumables Included in Membership! In addition to tools, membership includes many of the materials you need to make: 3D printing filament? Included. Vinyl and infusible ink for the Cricut? Included. Electronic components? Paint? Stained glass? Jewelry findings? Leather? Fabric? All included. We even have a large amount of wood for members to use — again, all included in membership. We want people to try new things and learn new skills. Since getting the right “stuff” is often the hard part of getting started, CVM makes it a priority to have what you need in the space – ready for you to give it a try.

We help each other learn. All members fill out a brief survey in which they share the skills that they are able to help others learn. That information is part of a searchable directory. Interested in learning how to use the laser engraver? There are five people who would love to help you. Want to learn more about the CNC? You can search the directory for folks who want to teach you. There are no classes to pay for (or wait for) – everyone helps everyone learn.

Front Room (Sewing and Library)

    • Noted to be better equipped than larger metro-area makerspaces

    • Bambu Lab X1 Carbon (larger, up to 4 color prints)

    • 3D printing pens

  • Cricut machine

    • Heat press, mug press, and mini press

    • Supplies for paper, vinyl, heat transfer, and infusible ink

  • xTool S1 Laser

    • Can engrave and cut leather, thin wood, and rubber stamps

    • Can engrave coated glass, metals, and stone

    • We have a variety of accessories: a rotational tool for round objects, a conveyor feeder for long objects, and a screen printer

Family Room (Craft Room)

  • Supplies and tools for:
    • Candle making, needle felting, leather work, knitting, and crochet
    • Paper crafts (quilling, calligraphy, origami, bookmaking)
    • Wood burning and engraving
    • Wax pens, paints (gouache, acrylic, watercolor, Posca), etc. 
    • Button maker (4 sizes), industrial sewing machine, green screen
    • Woodzilla wood block printer, Lego printing materials, block printing tools
  • Wide selection of consumables included in membership
  • Library with child-friendly activity books
  • Snacks and soda in fridge; greenwood in freezer for wood carving

Mid Room (Workroom + Interest Groups)

  • Large workspace for community meetups and crafting
  • Many events open to non-members, fostering inclusivity
  • Free regular events and meetups:
    • Spoon carving (Thursdays)
    • Fiber Friends group (Mondays)
    • Miniature painting night (monthly, includes all supplies)
  • Areas for 
    • Stained glass, jewelry making, leather work
  • Additional tools & supplies for:
    • macramé, chainmail, rock polishing
    • Dremel kits, matte cutter, frame saw
    • Small power tools (scroll saws, lathe, drill press)
    • Metal lathe, metal band saw, light welding

    Back Room (Wood Shop)

    • “Back room” tools require 2 adults present for safety
    • High-end woodworking tools:
      • CNC router, router table, handheld routers
      • Sawstop table saw, band saws, and miter saw
      • Joiner/planer, drill presses, lathes, sanders, etc. 
    • Tool Crib
      • Hand tools (hammers, wrenches, clamps, levels, etc.)
      • Lending library for tools (sanders, drills, saws, routers, electrical and plumbing repair kits, tile saws, power washer, etc.)

      Project Storage

      Our upstairs provides space for members to store projects and materials. Space is available free of charge
